About This Program
The BevelUp PICC Insertion Program provides clinicians with a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to ultrasound-guided peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement. Designed for vascular access specialists, infusion nurses, and healthcare professionals seeking advanced vascular access competency, the program combines clinical theory, procedural training, and hands-on application into a structured learning experience focused on safety, consistency, and improved patient outcomes.
Participants learn upper extremity vascular anatomy, ultrasound-guided vessel assessment, sterile insertion technique, modified Seldinger technique, catheter measurement and placement, tip navigation and confirmation, securement, dressing application, and complication prevention. Emphasis is placed on vessel health and preservation, catheter-to-vessel ratio principles, insertion planning, and evidence-based decision-making to support optimal device performance and reduce complications.
Through didactic instruction, simulation-based education, and deliberate hands-on practice, learners develop the technical skill, procedural confidence, and clinical judgment required to perform safe and effective PICC insertions in a variety of patient populations and care environments.
BevelUp LLC is an approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 18179, for 7 contact hours.
